David FunkDavid Funk is the founder of Funk/Levis & Associates, Inc., a brand development and marketing communications firm that has worked with clients all over the world. He is also a founding partner of The Ulum Group, a public relations firm that specializs in government and media relations. Both Funk/Levis and The Ulum Group are based in Oregon. Funk/Levis was founded in 1980 and The Ulum Group was founded in 1995. Before founding the company David Funk was an advertising agency creative director. He became interested in brands and how they work after he developed a pioneering process for corporate identity development, and saw the similarities to it and the early studies being done in academia about brands. In 2003, David was chosen as a Distinguished Alumnus of California State University, Los Angeles for his contributions to branding and design excellence in the United States. He has won scores of industry awards for his and the firm's work in branding and corporate identity.
