David Edmond CDBorn in Edinburgh, Scotland, David Edmond emigrated with his family to Canada in 1957. Settling in Sherbrooke, Quebec, he attended Bishop's University, sponsored through the RCAF Regular Officers Training Program, and earned a BSc degree.
