Daryl DicksonDaryl Dickson is an award-winning painter and illustrator with apassion for the natural environment and native wildlife rehabilitation.Originally from London, she now lives in Far North Queensland, where shedivides er time between her art and working to save the endangered mahoganyglider. Her first memories of wildlife are linked to England as her earlyconnections with nature were established in the English woods.Daryl has received an Australia Day Award for her workin environmental education and wildlife rescue, Cassowary Award, and theDrawing prize at the Hinchinbrook Bird Life Art Awards. She is a member of many artistic and conservationsocieties, including the Wildlife Art Society of Australia and The WildlifePreservation Society of Queensland, of which she is the president of her localbranch. She is also chair of Australia's National Recovery Team for theMahogany Glider, one of Australia's most threatened species.Daryl and her husband live in theKennedy Valley and devote much of their time to caring for injured and orphanednative animals.
