Danielle DowieDanielle Dowie is the creator of Danidow Publishing LLC, an ambitious independent publishing platform specializing in storybooks for children. A World Youth Championship silver medallist who represented Jamaica in athletics for over ten years, Miss Dwie holds a bachelor's degree in Nutritional Sciences from the prestigious The University of Texas at Austin in the United States of America, and teaches high school in her hometown of Port Antonio, Jamaica. In her debut book, Dowie fuses her fascination with children's innate ability to learn multiple languages and her desire to make the Jamaican language easily accessible to young readers globally. She dedicates Waa Gwaan Jimi: Welcome to the Jungle to her mother, Paulette Taylor-Harris, who provided great moral support and encouragement during its conception but passed away due to breast cancer before the book was published.
