Her first indie feature documentary, Digital Dharma, was Oscar qualified in 2012. Dafna has focused her documentary and online initiatives in the humanities, justice, and women's rights arenas. She holds a BA in rhetoric and communications, and a BA in international political science from the University of Pittsburgh.
