D W FletcherD.W. Fletcher volunteered for the commandos during WW2 and was then commissioned and served with 2nd Battalion 7th Gurkha Rifles attaining the rank of Captain in 1946. His life thereafter took him on great adventures to Egypt, India, Malawi, Malta an South Africa. He returned to Great Britain and retired to the Peak District in Derbyshire. The backdrop to his life was his passion for writing and he took inspiration from the people he met and cultures he lived in. In 1955, while in India, he authored Children of Kanchenjunga.
