Cristina Engel de AlvarezCristina Engel de Alvarez graduated in Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos in 1987 and holds a Master degree (1996) and PhD (2003) from the University of Sao Paolo. She is currently Professor Titular at the UniversityFederal of Espírito Santo (Vitoria, Brasil) and President of the Espírito Santo Research and Innovation Foundation. Her research interests are on architecture in inhospitable areas and sustainability in architecture and urbanism, and climate change. She is the coordinator of the CYTED network CIRES.
