Constance AbelI was born on a farm in a small town known as Reagor Springs, Texas, Which is located five miles Southeast of Waxahachie in Central Ellis County. Today, the Springs is more of a tourist site. But as a child, I remember the Springs as a closely knit cmmunity where children played together under watchful eyes of their parents and (or) neighbors. There was a phrase commonly used in that day, and even today it is well known: "It takes a village to raise a child." 'A' Village suggests one community, taking interest in the protection and safety of just one child.
