Raised and educated in Sydney, Australia, he had a successful career of over orty years in high schools and universities. Studying part time, he achieved a Bachelor Degree and two Masters Degrees in Science (Geology) and Educational Administration and later a Doctorate in Education. He too volunteered for the Army Reserve during the Vietnam War in support of his friends and was commissioned into the infantry. Now retired, he and his wife have traveled extensively, especially to South America to visit his daughter-in-law's family in Puno, Peru.
