Colm V Vincent FahyColm Fahy has been indulging his interest in storytelling through painting, writing, and illustrating, for many years. Several screenplays have earned laurels at international film festivals including Oaxaca (Mexico, 2016), Portugal International Fil Festival (2017) and Evolution (Spain, 2017). His poetry has appeared in several international literary journals including A New Ulster and Page & Spine. The Elephant Who Lost an Eye is his second illustrated story book after Galicia to Glora: The Last of Tribe of Danu and the Children of Lir (Libros, Madrid 2015), a revised version of which will soon be released in Spanish language under the title El Libro de Rinn. Colm comes from Achill Island on Ireland's west coast. He presently resides in Dublin from where he works a consultant legal analyst on democratic processes and the international human rights dimensions of elections. His work has brought him across the Middle East, Asia and Africa and provides a rich well of inspiration for his creative endeavours. Versions of the traditional story which inspired this book are to be found in the folklore of several communities across west Africa in particular, including Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia among others.
