She studied Sociology, Psychology, Health and Social Policy and Politics at the University of Warwick and competed her Post Graduate Certificate of Education at Birmingham City University. Claire has been a keen writer from an early age - writing and illustrating numerous children's stories in her teenage years. As an adult, Claire decided to pursue her dreams of becoming an author after her mother found one of her original illustrated books that had been in storage for over 20 years.
