Christy BChristine E. Bruce aka Christy B aka Lil' Hal's daughter. A retired nurse, crafter, writer of stories and poetry, artist. As a child, I was sent to bed before my body was ready to sleep, so I made up stories until I fell asleep. After every holiday mal, my dad and my gramp told stories about each other and themselves. I think they helped me hone my storytelling skills by remembering and retelling their stories to other people. My first published tale was Lil' Hal's Giant Christmas Box. There are more stories to share. My first writing contest was in Junior High, where an organization started a story, and students finished it and submitted it for a prize. I won second place.Later, as an adult, I wrote stories for my sons' Elementary classes during the Right to Read week. The children enjoyed hearing tales that were new to them. They grew excited to write their stories. For many years life and work keep me too busy to write, but now with retirement, I can write and do crafts to my heart's desire. Writing is especially exciting for me because I had a lot of trouble reading as an elementary schooler. I was, in fact, dyslexic.
