Christopher RiddleChristopher Riddle has contributed several first-hand accounts and memories to his father's biography. Christopher is the only one of Nelson's children to become a professional musician, he served his apprenticeship primarily as a bass trombonist in is father's orchestra, but also gained valuable experience with the orchestras of Buddy Rich, Henry Mancini, and Don Costa. He has backed many of the greatest singers of the 20th century including Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis Jr and Linda Ronstadt. In addition to establishing himself as a renowned trombonist, Christopher became a veteran of the Hollywood recording studios. With the decline of his father's health, he became involved in all aspects of the band and ultimately became the leader of the Nelson Riddle orchestra (NRO). Now in his later years this indefatigable performer finds time to compose and occasionally arrange and remains an ardent and committed advocate of preserving and promoting quality popular music for audiences world-wide.
