Chowdhury Ishraq Uz ZamanMajor Chowdhury Ishraq Uz Zaman (Retired) earned a Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery from Dhaka Medical College in Bangladesh, and later a Master's Degree in Orthopedic Surgery from Dhaka University.He served in the Army Medical Corps (AMC) o the armed forces of Bangladesh, initially in the capacity of a General Duty Medical Officer, then as a Surgical Specialist, and finally as a Classified Orthopedic Surgeon. Both he and his wife, who was also a Classified Specialist of the Corps, took early voluntary retirement from the armed forces. They immigrated to Canada soon after, and are now living there as Canadian citizens. The author has always been an avid writer. He won the Writer of the Year award as a teenager for his write-ups in the juniors' section of the defunct daily The Morning News. The author has always been a regular contributor to his school and college magazines. He also has a number of medical publications to his credit, both in Bangladesh and in Canada.
