Charlotte Bacon Ripley SorensonA descendent of the artistic and literary communiry of the New England Transcendentalists, Charlotte was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts into a Brahmin tea-drinking household. Her life changed when her family moved to the cultural communiry of Stockridge in western Massachusetts. There they opened Pilgrims Inn, a family project that evolved into a bohemian-style artists' commune. A graduate of Wellesley College with a major in art history, Charlotte has taught in Switzerland, the Philippines, in Cambridge and at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Before moving to Boulder, Colorado, she lived for several decades in the Boston area as the wife and partner of Bud Sorenson who has served as a professor, a college president, and a company CEO.
