He has lectured extensively in the USA and is the author of many books including: The Travels of Sir John Mandville (1983), Shakespeare’s History Plays ‘Richard II’ to ‘Henry V’: The Making of a King (1987) and The Poetic Birth: Milton’s Poems of 1645 (1990).
