Charles Ades FishmanCharles Adès Fishman created the Visiting Writers Program at Farmingdale State College, in 1979, and also created the Distinguished Speakers Program for the college, in 2001. He was final judge for the 1998 Capricorn Poetry Award, founder and coordintor of the Paumanok Poetry Award competition, and series editor for the Water Mark Poets of North America Book Award, and he has also served as poetry consultant to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC, since 1995.
