Catherine NixeyCATHERINE NIXEY is a journalist, classicist, and writer for the Economist. Her mother was a nun, her father was a monk, and she was brought up Catholic. She studied classics at Cambridge and taught the subject for several years before becomig a journalist, beginning on the arts desk at the Times (UK). Author of The Darkening Age, which won the Jerwood Award from the Royal Society of Literature and the Morris D. Forkosch Book Award from the Council for Secular Humanism, she also has written for the Financial Times and the New York Times, among others.
