Carolyn M PortaCarolyn M. Porta, PhD, MPH, RN, PHN, SANE-A, FAAN, FNAP, is an Associate Vice President for Clinical Aff airs at the University of Minnesota and a tenured Professor in the School of Nursing. She has worked as a public health nurse and sexual assault urse examiner for more than 20 years. Porta's program of research broadly supports workforce development and the testing of interventions to promote mental health and prevent sexual misconduct. She teaches courses in research methods and advises undergraduate and graduate students. She now serves on the research committee of the International Association of Forensic Nurses and the editorial review board of Public Health Nursing, and she is an Associate editor of the Journal of Forensic Nursing.
