Carol Vandenengel

Carol VandenengelCarol VandenEngel and Glenn Green have always had a passion for the great outdoors. These passions take them hiking and biking through autumn colours, enjoying wilderness camping, swimming with the fishes, meeting diverse and friendly people, snowshoing through the woods on chilly winter days, watching the early morning mist on a quiet lake with a cup of coffee, or simply sitting on a patio listening to undiscovered Canadian musicians. As they paddle, they are raising funds and awareness for a local hometown charity, Loving Spoonful, that promotes food security.

After enjoying fulfilling office careers, now in retirement they continue to do the things they love: travelling off the beaten path, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and always looking for the next challenge.

In her spare time, Carol volunteers to advocate for people with mental health issues, for those who live in poverty, and for causes that support these issues in our society. Glenn has volunteered as a youth softball coach, Scouts Canada leader and currently enjoys participating with several outdoor groups.

Carol and Glenn live together in Kingston, Ontario. Between the two of them, they have four grown children and four grandchildren.
