Carol Anne AncesBeing out in nature has always been important to Carol Anne Ances - wandering the woods as a child, watching dragonflies around a pond, smelling the fall leaves and hearing them drop softly to the ground. All are wonderful memories of growing up in Nw England. As an adult, Carol Anne spends time in Sanibel, Florida in the winter, enjoying Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge where she watches large flocks of white pelicans migrate side by side with all the human 'snowbirds.' Often, roseate spoonbills fly so close to her that she can hear the soft sound of their wings as they pass overhead. On trips to Florida's east coast, she was introduced to Wakodahatchee and Green Cay Wetlands. Here, egrets, ibis, wood storks and herons are in full mating splendor, followed by their nesting and raising of chicks. Taking photos of what she experiences in nature seals these memories so she can share them with others. She feels an increased sense of satisfaction when others share the beauty. Read More Read Less
