Carmen Galán MarínDr. Carmen Galán-Marín, Full Professor of Construction Technology and Sustainable Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Seville and head of the SATH research group (Sustainability in Architecture, Technology and Heritage). he was educated as an architect and specialized MS in building construction. Her research interests concentrate on low-carbon buildings and cities, urban climate under climate change scenarios, new materials and innovative technologies applied to architecture and construction, with special emphasis on environmental issues and sustainability. She has coordinated or participated in various energy-related projects funded by the EU, national and regional governments. At the present she is involved in projects about the analysis of different adaptation strategies to climate change. She leads a multidisciplinary group involved in the elaboration of predictive tools for urban climate adaptation linking different urban intervention strategies to the outdoor thermal comfort perception by citizens.
