Carline SamuelsCarline Samuels was born and raised in Jamaica, where this story takes place. She worked at the North Jamaica Mission, now the North Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, at the time of this story. She and her family came to the United Statesin 2007. Carline earned a Bachelor of Science degree in organizational management from Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. She went on to earn a master's degree in social work at Campbellsville University, Campbellsville, Kentucky.
