Formerly Chair of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at Rutgers, he has taught courses in linguistics (syntax and semantics), sociolinguistics and bilingualism, and second langage acquisition. Professor Kirschner received his Ph.D. in Spanish Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts.
