He is also Technical Director of RL Skills, his own training company with Gerry Raabe. The last 17 years have ben in well control. Previously, he was a Senior Engineering Advisor/Manager Engineering for Wild Well Control, performing response plans for clients worldwide. Scott was also a consulting drilling engineer for Newfield Exploration, drilling manager for Offshore Exploration Development Corporation, and a drilling engineer, drilling superintendent, and offshore drilling manager for Pennzoil Company.
