Preece is a high school chemistry teacher in central Kentucky and a graduate student at the University of Kentucky studying S.T.E.M. education, where he aims to research the effects of learning chemistry through comics. C. A. grew up on Meathoue Road in Martin County, Kentucky for most of his childhood. He later attended Morehead State University (MSU) for a B.S. in chemistry, the University of Kentucky for chemistry graduate school, and returned to MSU for a M.A. in teaching. C.
