Bryn SmithAuthor Bryn Smith is a not-quite-country-boy, not-quitecity-slicker born in Tasmania and raised in Townsville, Queensland. He is the second of four brothers. He works in technology in Canberra, and is a combat engineer in the Army Reserves. Bryn stared writing in university. His first short story, a noir thriller, won the H Neil Smith Prize. His second short story, The Long Way Home, won the Busybird Publishing Prize and was his first published work. Bryn started his first novel while at university and submitted it to the 2020 Hawkeye Publishing Manuscript Development Prize where it was long-listed. Taking on the judges' feedback he worked with editor L. E. Daniels and was later signed with Hawkeye.
