Brian E DaviesBrian retired from the electricity supply industry a number of years ago, after a career as an engineer and manager, having worked throughout South Wales. Originally from the Eastern Valley of Gwent, he now lives in Mumbles. His interest in local hisory saw him publish his first successful book about Mumbles and Gower pubs in 2006, a subject he revisited in a new book in 2018. He has always been a keen walker and has ascended most of the main peaks in Wales and completed numerous long-distance trails. His idea of walking from the southernmost to the northernmost point in Wales saw the publication of Wales: A Walk Through Time, an illustrated account of his journey in three volumes. Another recent book Mumbles and Gower Through Time explores the way a delightful corner of Wales has changed over the last century. Brian enjoys giving talks about his books to many different organisations. Brian is a past president of the Probus Club of Mumbles and is currently chairman of Oystermouth Historical Association. He and his wife Mari have a son and daughter and five very special grandchildren. Read More Read Less
