A world traveler, journalist, and former consultant on tourism to U.S. and foreign governments, his ties to Angel Island date backto his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Journalist William Wong, author of Images of America: Oakland's Chinatown, is the son of Chinese immigrants once detained at the immigration station.
