Bob O CrossmanDr. Bob Crossman has lived within a few hundred feet of Butterfield's Overland Mail Co. stage route across Arkansas most of his adult life in Russellville, Morrilton, Brightwater, North Little Rock, Pottsville, and since 1988 in Conway. He is a membe of the Southern Trails Chapter of the Oregon-California Trails Association, Faulkner County Historical Society, Arkansas Historical Association, the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History, and numerous postal history organizations.After graduating from Russellville High School, Bob received a B.A. from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, and received graduate and post-graduate degrees from SMU in Dallas, Texas. He is the author of the 2021 book, "Butterfield's Overland Mail Co. STAGECOACH TRAIL Across Arkansas 1858-1861," Ingram Spark Press, and the 2022 book, "Butterfield's Overland Mail Co. Use of STEAMBOATS Across Arkansas 1858-1861," Ingram Spark Press.He has also authored several articles including: "Fort Smith's Connection to the Butterfield's Overland Mail Co.: Stations Between Memphis and Fort Smith" in the Fort Smith Historical Society Journal, Fall 2021, p. 25-43; "The Butterfield Overland Mail Company: Faulkner County Connection" in the Faulkner County Facts & Fiddlings, Fall 2021, p. 24-32; and "Dardanelle's Connection to Butterfield's Overland Mail Co." in the Yell County Historical Society Journal, Fall 2021.
