Bob FilnerBob Filner began his progressive activism early: handing out Presidential campaign flyers at age 10, organizing for the first civil rights Youth March on Washington at 15, and spending forty days in the Mississippi State Penitentiary as an early Freeom Rider at 18. He received a Ph.D. in History from Cornell University and taught at San Diego State University for 22 years. Bob's San Diego political career spanned three decades - from School Board to City Council to Member of Congress to Mayor.
