Binboga Siddik YarmanBinboga Siddik Yarman (Life Fellow, IEEE) received his BSc degree from the Technical University of Istanbul in 1974; his MSc degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ in 1977; and his PhD from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY in 1982. Hewas a Technical Staff Member of General David Sarnoff Microwave Technology and Research Center (previously RCA Sarnoff Research Center), Princeton, NJ. He has served as Professor, President, and Administrator at various Universities in the USA, Germany, UK, Japan, China, and Turkey. He is one of the founders of the Savronik Group of Companies and the founding chairman of RFT Research & Technology Corporation. He is the inventor/co-inventor of many RF and microwave circuit design methods known as the "real frequency techniques," digital phase shifters, speech, image, and video encoding/decoding techniques known as "SYMPES" and the originator of the "Sympes-Phone" or in short "Symphone." He has published more than 300 papers/technical reports and nine books and holds five US and nine Turkish patents including Digital Phase Shifters, Sympes, and Symphone patents.

Dr. Yarman was the recipient of the Young Turkish Scientist Award of the Republic of Turkey (1986), the Technology Award of the Scientific and Research Council of Turkey (1987), the Research Award of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation of Germany (1987), was selected as the "Man of the Year in Science& Technology" by Cambridge Biography Center, UK (1998), elevated to Fellow grade of IEEE (2004), Member of the New York Academy of Science (1998), and is a Life-Fellow of IEEE, Alexander Von Humboldt Fellow of Germany, and Salzburg Fellow of USIS.
