Bill SeamanBill Seaman is an artist, composer and media researcher. His media works often explore an expanded media-oriented poetics through various technological means -- 'Recombinant Poetics'. More recently he has been exploring notions surrounding 'Recombinat Informatics' -- a multi-perspective approach to inventive knowledge production. He is currently working on a series of art/science collaborations -- poetic installations and scientific research papers as well as a new book related to the scientific work of Otto Rössler. He is a Professor at Duke University in the Department of Art, Art History & Visual Studies; and Music. He also works with the Computational Media, Arts and Cultures PhD programme at Duke. He co-directs the Emergence Lab. This year Seaman won a Distinguished Artist Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Digital Arts from ACM SIGGRAPH for his research into Neosentience, Recombinant Poetics, and Recombinant Informatics.
