Betty RobertsBetty Roberts was born in Wyoming County, West Virginia, graduated High School at Matoaka High, followed by graduation from the University of Virginia School of Nursing in Charlottesville, Virginia. Betty had an active career as a nurse, working in te Delivery room or as a general Supervisor, with the last eight years in long term care. She retired as Director of Nurses at a 156-bed long-term care facility. Betty moved to Alabama with her husband as he pursued his career, teaching missile systems for the Army. There, she attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville and in Tuscaloosa, concentrating on her first love, writing, with courses in Creative Writing as well as English, Psychology, and History. After retiring Betty studied oil painting; with seven children and numerous grand and greats, she has no problem getting rid of her paintings.
