Bette J LaffertyBette was born during the Great Depression when times were extremely hard. From her youth, she struggled with undetected dyslexia which prevented her from learning to talk until she was three. School proved difficult and yet she graduated with honors Being married at eighteen and having two children helped her to gain confidence in her ability to survive. Meeting Jesus in her mid-thirties changed everything. She began writing Bible studies, devotions, skits and even developed a Gospel clown ministry. Overcoming her shyness, conquering her fears due to her continual battle with dyslexia, and learning to use the computer, Bette started writing seriously. But it wasn't until she experienced the death of her father, her mother and then, her beloved husband, Russell, that the Lord called her to put her writings into book form.
