She is internationally known for her work in the field of education; and served as a NYC English teacher before a distinguished tenure as Dean of the College of New Rochelle's School of New Resources where, under her leadership, more than 10,000 women earned their undergraduate degrees and are now changing lives in their families and communities. During her deanship she was privileged to work with History makers. In God's Bad Boy she profiles Bishop Desmond Tutu, Mamie Till Mobley--mother of Emmitt Till and Gill Noble. In Love Lifted Me she details lasting friendships with Gordon Parks, Rosa Parks, and Cicely Tysons . Dr. Blake is a graduate of Southern University, Baton Rouge Louisiana; received her master's from North Carolina Central University; her doctorate from Columbia University -Teacher's College; and did post-doctoral work at Harvard University.
