Berri NguyenI'm Berri Nguyen, a high schooler living in Portland, Oregon. I moved from Vietnam to The U.S. in 2020, right before the pandemic started. Covid changed everyone's life and I'm not an exception in this. After settling in Portland with my family, it ws lonely and boring for a long time for me since I had no friends. Luckily, I found interest in writing, literature, art, and especially poetry. I learned how to entertain myself with things that made me happy and how to use words to express my feelings. Inspired by the release of Barbie in 2023, I have been researching and starting many projects on the topic of "Girlhood". Being a girl is such a magical thing for me despite many disadvantages in society's standards towards my gender. I use poetry and art to emphasize the importance and the enjoyment of being a girl whether it's about a universal event or a personal piece.
