Benjamin TonnaBenjamin Tonna (d. 2001) helped to start SEDOS, the study center of the missionary-sending institutes in Rome. He became its Executive Secretary in 1967 and, in that capacity, interviewed hundreds of missionaries as they passed through Rome or in ther places of ministry in the cities of the Third World. His liaison responsibilities with the urban mission group of the World Council of Churches in Geneva helped him share with them the ecumenical dimension of the mission to the cities. He graduated with a degree in sociology from Louvain University and authored 'Sociologia della Pastorale', a handbook for the use of sociology in pastoral work.
