Beck KingBeck says she's one of those people that have 'always had a book in them.' She's a storyteller from way back, entertaining (in her opinion) anyone who'll listen to her yarns and not fall asleep. She's been a lover of books since she could hold them i her chubby, young hands. Beck's had an eclectic career in many different roles including financial planning. However, it was in 2009 when she started working for a social care agency that her career changed dramatically and perhaps the way she viewed life also expanded in many ways. The issue of child protection became of great interest to Beck through her work. Beck began to understand the tragic plight of the many children that were abused by their family members or people they loved or trusted. This lead to Beck's role at the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney, in the Safeguarding and Ministerial Integrity Office. As a training facilitator her role was to help develop and deliver Safeguarding and Child Protection training programs to the clergy, other religious and staff of the Archdiocese with the view of overarching cultural change within the church in terms of the safeguarding of children. The team's much respected training programs resulted in Beck and her manager being invited to The Archdiocese of Suva, Fiji to develop and deliver their Safeguarding training program for the whole of the Archdiocese including all clergy and Catholic school principals in Fiji. Beck is now happily writing and studying life coaching. The Truth Seeker is her first novel. She's been married to good old Davo for donkey's years and they have three very loveable adult daughters. She also writes posts about emotional awareness and human connection on her Facebook page Soul to Life. Beck hopes her writing can give a little bit of love, hope and healing to the world.
