Barbara V CrumpI plan to continue my research by developing a model for end-of-life care and looking into ways to implement the model. This issue became particularly relevant when my mother became ill. I took care of her at home with hospice, making sure she had fist-rate, quality care and had the family around her as this was extremely important. Nobody should suffer at their end-of-life. Dignity and respect should be maintained during this time in one's life. Yes, we have hospice, but that can be a struggle. How do we make it better? Recently, I started a nursing scholarship in the Crump Family name for African American students at William Paterson University. The annual scholarship shall be awarded for the purpose of empowering African American nursing students in dignity care at the end-of-life. Read More Read Less
