He's interested in character development as much as he is in shootouts; particularly stories about second-chances given to otherwise faulty characters. Afer all, it's how these characters behave in the story that makes it enjoyable to read. Although intense, adrenaline-soaked action scenes are cool, too. B. D. lives alongside his two ball pythons, whose solid, expressionless stares sometimes scare him more than his writing does.
