I was a child educator and primary school teacher for 40+ years. I am also a mother of 3 daughters, grandma and great-grandma. My grandsn Tom and I work on the books together. I know what parents and children want from coloring books. Because both have their needs and wishes. Children want to have fun and learn something. Parents also want these two things for their children, but also time for themselves. We take that into account here.Unfortunately, I was very rarely allowed to be a child because I grew up during the war. I was born in 1934. My mother always said: "You work in the fields. From painting and reading we can't buy food. So don't do that!" Then one day she exchanged my books and crayons for food. During the expulsion from my home town in the Sudetenland in 1945, we were taken away in cattle trucks.At that moment, I swore to myself that I would dedicate my life to children. More precisely, I wanted to combine my interest in drawing and learning to help children. Because I wish every child a happy childhood. War and expulsion from one's homeland I wouldn't wish them on anyone. Then I first became an educator and worked in the profession for a few years. As an adult, I then studied to become a primary school teaching degree in the GDR in German, mathematics and art education. I remained active in painting in the community and held small exhibitions.
