August DillmannAugust Dillmann (1823-94) was born at Illingen, Wuerttemberg, and educated at the University of Tubingen, where he was a student of Heinrich Ewald. He produced catalogs of Ethiopic manuscripts, an edition of the Bible in Ethiopic, the Ethiopic editio of 1 Enoch (1851), 'Lexicon Linguae Aethiopiae' (1865), and 'Chrestomathia Aethiopica' (1866). He taught at the universities of Tubingen, Kiel, Giessen, and Berlin.
