Arthur MacGregorArthur MacGregor LVO, MA, MPhil, DLitt, is currently an Andrew W. Mellon Visiting Professor at the Victoria and Albert Museum Research Institute, undertaking work on the collections of the East India Company's museum. Formerly, he was for almost thiry years a curator at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. In the course of his museum career he pursued interests in archaeology, archaeozoology and the history of collecting: spanning these subjects, he has published more than a dozen edited volumes and is sole author of a further five. Having co-founded the Journal of the History of Collections in 1989, he has continued as editor since that time.
