Arnold G DanielsonArnold G. Danielson's long career in banking began in 1972 when he was hired as Vice President of Planning at Maryland National Bank in Baltimore. In 1977, he left Maryland National to form his own firm, Danielson Associates, which initially specialied in advising banks on planning for the future in a rapidly changing banking environment. In the early 1990s, the firm expanded its orientation to merger and acquisition assistance. In 2007, he published his first book, Consolidation of Banking: or How Five Banks Bought 50% of America's Biggest Business. This book was updated in 2014 to include the banking and financial crisis of 2008 and subsequent events, and it was renamed American Banking through Crisis and Consolidation. Today, Mr. Danielson is retired, and he and his wife split their time between homes in Potomac, Maryland and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Prior to buying the home in Florida in 2015, they had a second home in southern France for thirteen years. These years sparked an interest in international banking and local history. The latter resulted in his writing A Traveler's History of Côte d'Azur that was published in 2012. Read More Read Less
