He is a Vice Chair of the ABA Art & Cultural Heritage Law Committee, and is the Editor of, and a frequent contributor to, the Committee's Newsletter. Vartian graduated from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York in 1978, and Harvard Law School in 1981.
