Anu Verma

Anu VermaI was born in Coventry, England, but have also lived in Manchester, where I studied at University, and in Bournemouth, where my son was born. I hold a BSc Honours in Physiology and Health and MSc Degree in Sports Science and I also hold a Cambridge Qalification in teaching English as a Foreign Language. My working life has revolved around teaching, both at home and abroad, where I have taught in Thailand for a time, and I have also worked in Medical and Scientific sales. I have recently written and launched a National Online Course for students who are preparing for the UK Grammar School Entrance Exams. It has been my experiences of childhood abuse that has shaped me as a person, first threatening to destroy me and then revealing a path to freedom and happiness that I thought I would never find. I explore this path in my book, hoping that it will also help others to find themselves the way in which I did, through travel, self-help and a determination to cast off my damaging past. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, self-development, yoga, meditating, going for walks and keeping fit. My love of traveling manifested itself in not one, but two backpacking trips around the world and I have skydived in Cairns and volunteered at a school in Nepal. I hope that I will be able to do even more in the future. I am ambitious and want to use my skills and life experiences to help others to improve their lives. I love to work with children, as they are our future, and I want to work with the vulnerable who are suffering or have suffered from abuse. I hope that my book will reach out to survivors of abuse and have some effect on the lives of those who feel helpless. Read More Read Less
