As a proud American and loyal Democrat, he wasthrilled to be part of a great moment in history. Unfortunately, he was left heart-broken with how dysfunctional, heartless, and uncaring the program turned out to be. PPACA was never properly implemented. It did not function well and treated people inhumanely. Worst of all, it betrayed the promise of making health insurance plans affordable and health care accessible. Fundamentally, the program is flawed as it relies entirely on voluntary participation by health insurance companies and health care providers; depending on health-insurance-illiterate and non-liable bureaucrats and enrollers to assist people. The only real winners today are the greedy and paternalistic hospital systems, the pharmaceutical firms, and the administrative agencies they control.
