Anita WorrallAnita began her journey in her native Romania, survived the Nazis and the Communist takeover of her country. As emigrants, armed only with a piece of paper typed in Romanian, as they had to relinquish Romanian citizenship, she left Romania at the ageof 10, with her mother and grandmother for Israel, Cuba, and Canada. Years later, as a doctoral student at Cornell University, she fell in love with a Fulbright scholar from South Africa, Denis Worrall, and followed him to South Africa, a land in the midst of apartheid.She shared her politician and diplomat husband's passion for transforming the land of apartheid to full democracy. The story embodies the essence of resilience in the midst of challenging times, from the reality of being Jewish in the first half of the twentieth century and the journey to end apartheid in the land Anita made her home.Dr Anita Worrall is an internationally acclaimed educational psychologist and a specialist in children with learning difficulties.
