Angie Mackie is a nurse, the mother of three daughters and two girl cats, an avid outdoors woman and a poet at heart. She was thrilled to have the chance to collaborate with Sophie on this children's book after having helped edit Beautiful Brilliant and Brave. Having three daughters, she especially understands how important the message that beauty is an inside job is for all of us, but even more so for young girls.

Her hope is that this message is prevalent for all children, starting at a young age, and continues throughout life.

Lara Mackie is a new elementary school teacher, a student at heart and an impulsive crafter! As a young adult, Lara has explored many avenues that lead her to her goal of inspiring wonder in small children including facilitating in a museum and a science centre, as well as scouring the archives for research on breast cancer in Nairobi, Kenya. Involved in a social justice cohort during her Master of Teaching and facilitating a Girls In-STEAM event, Lara is excited to help give a voice to those who have gone unheard. It has been a life-long dream for Lara to illustrate a children's book, since they are one of the most powerful learning tools we can give to our tiny humans.
